Sonnet: To Our Beloved Elder Brother Poem by Dr John Celes

Oh, what a wonderful one brother you're,
Our elder exemplary sibling great!
You lived steadfast, although you lived afar;
And helped all family members until date.

You earned your degrees all through labour hard;
You went to work to help our parents good;
You lived in piety as per the Word;
Unlike us most, you missed our mummy's food.

What sacrifices you went through in life!
You slogged life-time to live up to your name;
You shared your jokes despite the frequent strife;
You played a father's role, not wanting fame.

In old age, still, you live for others' sake;
You are from special clay, which God did bake.
