Sonnet: What A Starry Night Tells! Poem by Dr John Celes

Sonnet: What A Starry Night Tells!

The Bible says, ‘God calls each star by name! ’
And why some twinkle and some others fade?
The Maker only knows what for they came;
They obey Him from when, He had them made!

God’s love for lifeless objects seems so great;
His love for man is endless and much more;
That’s why for Adam, He made Eve as mate;
Man must take wife and not visit a whore!

Man’s knowledge is a naught in front of God,
Whose impeccable wisdom towers high;
God’s judgment fair is followed by just rod;
Except man’s soul, all things He made must die!

O glorious God, how splendid is Thy feat!
If only I could be dust near Thy feet!
