Sonnets From Beauty Within Poem by Nathaniel Wren

Sonnets From Beauty Within

There are things about you sometimes you wish could’ve been made different,
but they are the unique little things that make you magnificent.
You take precious time in front of the mirror making tiny adjustments here and there;
only because being told you’re unattractive is a little more than just a fear.
So you strive to be recognized and moreover so, beautiful than others,
but make-up and the clothes you wear only serve as covers.
Doing a great job of hiding what’s within,
entrapped behind a mask, a new layer of skin.
In a comfort shell that renders little protection to the harsh words you hear,
it does its job; up until the time you spend sobbing and tasting tears.
The inner petals you conceal which you thought made you dismissible
is the diamond core to what makes you beautiful and irresistible.
Embrace what’s within, inner-self is the true beauty of you;
value yourself, outer shell and inner most radiance too.
