Sorosoke Poem by MOSES ABOLADE

Sorosoke

SOROSOKE
Off the mic!
Off the mic!
Which Mic?
The Microphone you stole from my father?
It is off because you rounded them up
They are feeling wasted; the reason I speak up
Off the mic?
No Sir! My mic is on twitter

We are the voice
We have made the right choice
To SOROSOKE like Okeke
To voice out deep anger even in the noise
It's our right to SOROSOKE and be okay
Hmm… it is the only way to be okay

You told me to keep quiet
You insisted I remain silent
You want me to bury my head to your rules
But the voice of Justice says Speak Up
You told me its fake news and
Even the blood is sabotaged (I think this should be 'staged'?)

Fortunately, Jack and Mark made my brothers spoke up
They say: SOROSOKE and be Okay

Become a journalist, without paying fine
Be your voice, and ARISE against them
BE your media, and CHANNEL your news
Be the eyes that SWITCH the news
The naked eyes against fake news

We are the voice
The SOROSOKE nation
A voice brave in motion
Be the voice and not the noise

Note: We are not on drugs or coke
We have energy and are strong like oak
We are visionary and can SOROSOKE
SOROSOKE and be okay like Okeke
