Sorry Poem by Ojeikpo Elijah

Sorry

Sweet sorrow, my words fail to convey
The depth of pain that I have caused thee
In thoughtless moments, I led you astray
Forgive me, my love, for I am sorry
My heart aches with regret, each passing day
For the wounds I inflicted, I can see
The tears you shed, in silence you pray
Forgive me, my love, for I am sorry
I never meant to hurt you, my dear
But my foolish actions, they did prevail
I have no excuses, no voice to clear
Forgive me, my love, for I am sorry
I promise to make amends, to be true
And cherish you, with every breath I take
Without you, my world is empty and blue
Forgive me, my love, for I am sorry
Let our love be the beacon, that guides us
Through the rough seas, with each other we trust
Forgive me, my love, for I am sorry
Together, our love will rise, evermore.
