I wanted to apologize
For all the hurt and all the lies
For all the times I made you cry
And made yo uwish you'd just die
For all the times I stood you up
And each time you felt you weren't loved
I never took the time to think of all the ways you helped me
You pulled me up each time I fell
You kept me out of this jail cell
You were my rock and my stronghold
I should have treated you like gold
Instead I pushed you away
I should have held you close each day
In here I've had some time to think
And now I see I'm incomplete
I'm not trying to butter you up
And I don't expect your love
I just hope you'll understand
I'm trying to be the bigger man
I hope that when I'm free again
That you'll give me a second chance
A chance to see what could have been
But starting off as just two friends
