Soul Mate Poem by Jake Deeds

Soul Mate

Rating: 5.0

Soul Mate

In the wee of the night and without a sound
The footsteps forward and the foyer found
The epiphany electrified and eerily profound...
I lived for you

When entombed and despair's echo sails
Through a raspy throat of billowing wails
And time trods to the tune of ponderous snails...
I waited for you

Eternity passed without remorse
Like a backward rider on a headless horse
And a Viking vessel sailed South from course...
I searched for you

The moon filled five hundred times or more
As time passed six and some odd score
And my body decomposed on a desolate shore...
...
I died for you…<><
