Soul Mate Poem by Alexander Thomas

Soul Mate

Rating: 0.5

All things in symmetry,
From the shape of space to the beauty of your face,
To the blazing star in the sky and the glint in your eye,
From the leaf the chrysalis clings to the butterfly’s wings,
To the spring of life from a cell and the curl of a shell,
Why not minds alike?

All things paired,
From the flower to the bee to the bird and the tree,
To the hand to the glove and the wind to the dove,
From the water to the fish to the well and the wish,
To the foot to the shoe and the love which is true,
Why not a pair of souls?

All things to eventually meet,
From the river to the ocean to the senses and emotion,
As the dawn to song to a bond of fellowship strong,
From the finger to the ring to the autumn from the spring,
As the needle to the thread to the lovers to be wed,
Why live alone?
