Went to my orthodontist
And he gave me some stock tips
He has taken good care of my mouth,
So I listen to the wisdom of his lips
He improved my smile to the max
But will his advice appreciate after tax
My auto mechanic says the restaurant
On the corner has the best Mexican food
Do I trust his judgment, when I saw his old truck
On blocks in the neighborhood
He says the make the best enchiladas
And the hottest salsa yet
It won’t bring tears to my eyes
Because I only cry to forget
My car runs smooth and fine
And I have no problem with that
Is it the grease beneath his finger nails
That makes my doubt go flat
My grocer says that Napa Valley
Grows the best wine
But as we sit at our AA meeting
I don’t think I buy that line
Too many times I seen him drown his sorrow
Always saying that he will start anew tomorrow
So I don’t think I’ll take a trip to Napa Valley
When I can simply share my thirst
With my friends down in Tin Pan Alley
My girlfriend says you can’t buy
Love with money and jewels
She says to leave that up
To bigger, richer fools
But I know there’s a hidden message there
As she nonchalantly flicks at her hair
I better stop by at the shopping mall
At least the flower shop for sure
My wife says the weather is changing
But I think it is just her attitude
I forgot another anniversary
So I ‘m not getting much latitude
She says she can feel it in her bones
A chill she’s never known
Do I listen and believe her
Or believe our weatherman who appears to be stoned
Opps, forgot to delet last verse
