Sounds Of Silence Poem by Jennifer Danger

Sounds Of Silence

My soul broke long ago
Dashed against the darkest of rocks
Mysterious, alluring
[I am a butterfly with a broken wing]

Sounds of silence
My story hidden in my soul prison
And I have no words
No way to express
Deception's caress
I dwell in forever regret

Freedom unlocked, yet captive I'll stay
For my ghosts refuse to away
They haunt me and they taunt me
A relentless descent
And my silence is kept.

Do I dare share shards of myself?
You listen, do you hear?
Sovereign anguish
The pieces that remain to protect
Can there be beauty from the ashes?
A new journey begins.
