Spa-Ring! Poem by michelle mandeville

Spa-Ring!

the brightest star eats out my eyes
as i try to look at the cotton candy clouds in a sea of blue
all the blades of grass are green.
this kind of weather can make one go mad with a good attitude
ecstatic music flows through my nerves,
making me want to dance in a way that is socially unnaceptable
i can do the impossible today
in tank tops and shorts, flip flops and bunched up hair
kids are screaming their lungs out
and my body is screaming with energy, all bundled from the frost
now that it's gone, so is my mind
i want to sing, sing, old old songs, that had a certain happy making frequency
steaming out of all my orifices
i'm floating, can't touch the ground and i don't want to
it's pretty, it's happy, it's spring
go make some babies!
