Spaces Poem by Nour AbouelSaad

Spaces

My hands are ready,
I type a space,
Then another,
Words should come out,
I urge them to,
The stuff that fill my heart,
Feelings that make me,
I will that cycle to end,
On a good note,
On the first page,
We were deeply in love,
Mending the broken pieces,
Sleeping on the same bed
Then the last page came,
I found myself alone,
Sleeping on that bed,
Which feels a lot bigger now
Without you,
Now the river of tears I kept for you will always be flowing,
I question what we had and I know that,
We will never be,
I wish those scratches to heal,
But even if they don't,
I am ok with that,
I got used to them,
They are not that painful anymore,
The darkness in me sees the light from far away,
I know happiness will be granted to me,
When I deserve it,
Or when I light the matches of my hope,
Because even you,
With your love,
Your dearness,
And your reality that strikes me from day one to day hundred,
Even you,
With your questions,
And your smoke,
That is as dangerous as the fire I keep inside me,
And your eyes,
That stare and scare,
Even with your stars,
That shine on my empty seven skies,
I still type words
With a million spaces in between
