Spare Me

They don't understand.
Why don't they understand me?
I cry and cry and cry,
but it's like no one can hear me,
and I am left with no one but myself,
though I, too, am flawed.
My strength may keep me going,
but it cannot stop the pain.
My mind may keep me company,
but it cannot find me friends.
My fate may have spared me,
but it cannot save my soul.
It's too late.
I'm already lost
because no one understood me.
