The dew was heavy that morn
clinging thickly upon the trees of fir,
enough to make the fronds
bend a little towards the grassy lawn.
White and grey clouds busily mingled
above without sight of blue sky
then, suddenly slightly parted
and a ray of sunshine beamed down,
shone directly upon one fir tree,
the beam catching onto a dew drop
nestling amongst the wet branches,
miraculously transforming it
into an enormous sparkling diamond -
just for a moment, the dewdrop gleamed
until the clouds once more quickly closed over
and the beautiful sparkling dewdrop was gone.
