Speak Your Mind Poem by Brian Merski

Speak Your Mind

Speak
Speak your mind and yours alone
Speak from your heart, head, and soul
Till it rattles in your bone

You might say it with a sigh
Or perhaps you yell it proud
Joy and pain make may you cry
But say it, say it aloud

So that true words can come out
Love them, hate them, they are real
Truth was never bent by shout
And candor cares not for feel

Not all regret can be cured
It may beat you black and blue
However, be rest assured
When you speak, you speak for you.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Being honest with others isn't always easy, but it can be even harder to be honest with ourselves.
COMMENTS OF THE POEM

I would say it's not only harder but sometimes it takes too much time to speak your own mind and your choices. I've heard sayings like where the mind is without fear. And it won't be possible to become fearless unless you speak your own mind. Great thought! !
