Speaks Every Language Poem by Francis Duggan

Speaks Every Language

Money does not fall from the sky in a shower
And it is true that those who have lots of it at their disposal have power
It does speak every language as some are known to say
And in the twenty first century more than ever before it does seem this way
To those who are materially wealthy many look up to and admire
And to be wealthy like them they to do aspire
How much money you possess says more about you in the World of today
Than anything else can do and this seems sad to say
Of singing the praises of the wealthy and famous so many cannot seem to tire
And just to be like them they greatly desire
Though they may not be kind and compassionate in any sort of a way
Their admirers in numbers do grow by the day
So few wish to know of the poor of the town
In life doing it tough and financially down.
