Spirals Poem by Energetic Sloth

Spirals

Rating: 5.0

From to and fro
About the curtains will this sea go
Rocking about in an endless motion
Drifting off into the expanse of endless blue
Off to the horizon

Stepping a foot at a time
Passing each crack of stone by an inch
Measuring the next arc for the next landing
Staring at God's creature
Mother Nature, in all of her glory
Brought down to a measly slab of rock
Off to the horizon

The room is spinning
Twisting and contorting like a nightmare
Bending in ways beyond the mind's capacity
Purples and velvets fill the room
The raising of a torso up and down
Mimics the sea with splendor
Off to the horizon

The drips of rain after a storm night
Collude into a tinted puddle
Rippling about when the air thickens
A swamp surrounds this place
Suffocating the grey skin with dead green
Nothing but vast plains of ditches
Off to the horizon

No one will know the mind you have
No one will know the tale you've spun
No one will know what's on the inside of that box
But that one you let in
They'll see right through the ghost you are
Stop spiraling, rest, let the burning night
Take you from your mind, and off to rest.
