Spirit Poem by Glenn Ford

Hello friend remember me I'm the voice of wisdom reason and calm
I'm the one you listened to, to prevent you from coming to harm.
I'm the one that stood over you potecting you from your foes
I'm the one that listened to you when you told me of your woes
When temptation strikes and you're not thinking right and your deciscion might be flawed
I'm the one that pulled you back, and told you no, and made you feel assured.
Ignore me at your peril for some day that may be
Life's a long road and should you err you will look for sanctity.
But I'll not be there, for you didn't hear when i told you it was wrong
To take the poison in your arm now your repenting will be long.

But I have not left I was always here waiting patiently by your side
Listening to your pain and anguish and from the life you tried to hide
I will not go now and I never will even though it's hard to hear me say
That you will be healthy and happy and at peace some far off distant day.
Now be strong and fight with all your might and don't look back again
And I'll do my best and stand with you and help your through your pain.
Together we stand in defiance, in the face of adversity
So remember in your dark hour and you think all is lost, look in the mirror and standing there will be me.
