Spirit On Fire - Poem by Tushar Nanda

Its been a year or so
since the beginning of time
when i started writing down
my thoughts in rhyme
the days have passed
the seasons have gone
only thing remaining
is the feeling of belong
new place new folks
all change not the same
new layers of pressure
you endure, part of the game
its a rabbit run out there
trying to outrun each other
was work one time
studies now; different name but still who bothers

whats life but change
one place to next
getting burned again
getting burned again

so bring on the next bottle
pour it on ice
lets get burned again
yup burned again

this time last year
was developing a code
for some shit crazy suits
whose logic was hard to decode
this time this year
surrounded by books
a list of topics to crack
giving me darned dirty looks
you say what comfy life was before
there was no pain no worry
slogging for a few hours
pocketing a few grands in a hurry
now plug away for a whole day and next
still realize you should have arrived a day before
no respite no clue no sleep no rest
not learning anymore, only a load of chores

some changes are good
this don't know as yet
but loving being burned again
yes burned again

whats the pleasure of healing
without knowing the pain
wanna get burned again
yes burned again

loving the air loving the smell
hating the rain on me again
loving the place, quite hard to explain
hating the monotony of the terrain

love hate relationship all over again
tried too long but hard to abstain
still love the feeling of being burned again
being burned again

the feeling was long dormant
has come to surface again
please don't stop
wanna get burned again
again and again...
