Spirit's Journey Poem by Eric Bult

Spirit's Journey

Socrates himself was quite convinced
That 'souls' exist, destined for future life.
This fact I learned long after I evinced
This very same conclusion after strife,
Concluding in my ever questing brain
That 'spirits', as I do prefer to name them,
Are immortal and are souls the same
On a quest to reach the holy stem.
This Socratic finding I suggest
Should satisfactorily answer all
Except those who require none but the best
Of scientific proof of human thrall.

That such degree of proof cannot exist
Is evident to me I do insist.
