Spirituality Poem by Vincent Van Ross

Spirituality

Rating: 5.0

The best of everything
Is offered to God

Be it art,
Architecture
Or, Music

Music is the lubricant
Of every religion
It is woven into
Rites and rituals

Devotional songs
Had a niche market
On gramophone records
Tapes, CDs, DVDs
And, now, on internet

Hymns for Christians
Qawwalis for Muslims
Bhajans for Hindus
Chants for Buddhists
Kirtans for Sikhs
And, so on and so forth…

Whether it is the Church
Or Masjid
Or Mandir
Or Monastery
Or Gurudwara
Or, any other place of worship,
Most rituals ride on music

There is some supernatural power
That drives the whole universe
Our best offerings are devoted
And dedicated to that power
When music reaches that power
And, touches the heart and soul
Of that supreme being
Music achieves spirituality

It is my firm belief that when you reach the highest level of performance in any discipline, you achieve spirituality because it takes a whole lot of devotion and dedication to get there.

Very well written Vincent. I like what you have said here. The whole universe is a song of the manifestation and glory of God and we are all a part of it. That's why we in turn usually take delight in singing and composing songs and poems because they can reminds us and lead us on to Him. Greetings to you.
