Spleen. Poem by Safiyyah Manjra

Spleen.

Today our goodbye seemed rancid.
Can you believe how much time we invested.

The banks they gave us a hard time.
Listening to you speak made me unwind.

I don't know what I'll do without you.

During the semester.
Every ounce of time I could gather.
There's only you I'd rather…
Spend that time with.

I'm going to miss your music,
Your history lessons were the main culprit.
The sound of the piano,
The drummer playing solo.

I can't forget to mention.
Your research lessons.

How can there be a semester without you?
What will I do?
To be honest I never came across a being so cleaver and nice as you.

Seeing you smile puts my misery to rest.
When you look me in the eye,
It feels rather different as my thoughts run dry.
