Spring Poem by Elaine Battersby

Spring

I open my eyes to a feast of exquisite beauty.
once tight anonymous buds,
burst out into a wondrous canvas of green
emerald, olive, shamrock and lime,
sparkling and dancing in the sun.

Cherry and apple blossom petals flutter
freely n the wind, decorating the ground
with their soft loveliness.
And a carpet of yellow daffodils brings a smile to my eyes
and a spring to my step.

Song birds like the finest of orchestras,
create a wonderful mix of harmonies.
Loud and soft gentle and shrill, they
fill the air with their music,
announcing the arrival of spring.

Yes spring as sprung upon us once again.
The starkness of winter now gone.
Fresh new shoots of life all around us.
And so the circle of life revolves,
embracing us all.
Yes spring has arrived with its magic.
