Springtime Dawn Poem by Midifo Yearns

Springtime Dawn

Where has summer gone? Why is winter cold?
Does spring remember autumn past or look to
autumn yet to come? Can autumn smile at job
well done, lend strength for cold and barren time?

Life seasons move in and out, to pass away like
swallows come and go, predictable yet not the same
touch skin and heart, and move the brain to wonder,
contemplate lost mystery, found sense of all that is.

As quickly as it comes, it goes, and in the passage
leaves a trace that penetrates the inner parts, drops
memories, to linger and create nostalgic pain, and hope
to open doors; to widen scope of vision and of dreams.

Dreams that beckon and invite, taste strong with
power to ignite vestige of more glorious time
from which remnant draws strength, to march into
future with victory songs, with dances of joy.

Come dance a while, and wipe away those tears
that still blur vision, engender fears of years gone by.
Come sing new song and beat the drum to celebrate
and recreate a springtime dawn; fresh new morn.
