Squeeze Please Poem by Francie Lynch

Squeeze Please

Squeeze Please

Squeeze Please is a cute word rhyme,
With a grip and depth
Unique and sublime.
Part hug, some cuddle, but
Much like a tickle...
It's fickle! !
Yet
I sense familial love songs
When
My limbs contract to stop his wiggles-
And then,
Before he starts his Ciaran giggles...
My knees squeeze.
That's when I heard,
Without one word...

Squeeze because you love me;
Squeeze because I love you;
Squeeze because I feel protected;
Squeezing keeps we two connected.
Squeeze Please makes me feel secure.

Please squeeze... please... please squeeze me more.

Squeeze me to my happy place.
Squeezing tells me that I'm safe.
Then Squeeze me tight, to give me peace,
Like a weighted blanket while I sleep.
Squeeze because I feel the strength
There for me in any event.
Squeeze me like a pet boa,
Squeeze because you're my Granda.

I listen, I hear, when he says Squeeze Please;
That cute word rhyme really speaks to me.

(Now loosen and Squeeze Please some more.........................)

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This autistic child does indeed find comfort in the squeeze. I suspect there are others as well.
