Sri Aurobindo Ashram Library/ The Rhesus Macaque Mother With Her Baby/ Can You Say?

Sri Aurobindo Ashram Library

In the Ashram Library
While turning over the pages of volumes,
The Life Divine and Savitri,
Pictures and images of the Maharshi
Conjured upon the mind's plane unawares.

The Rhesus Macaque Mother With Her Baby

The rhesus macaque
Going with her baby
And the baby following
The mother strangely
Holding the tail
From her behind
Sometimes lying curled
Into the lap
And ogling.

Can You Say?

Where my home is,
Where I was born
Or where grew I up
Or where came I for bread and butter?

Where my home,
What my address,
Where have I come to
And where to go finally?
