I'm moving forward
Trying to let go of my past
Hope is taking a hold
But I don't know if it will last
I'm on the edge of a precipice
Teetering on a new genesis
The provenance of my path fills me with doubt
I fear that chasing after you was all it was about
I think about letting go
Of the naïve fool inside me
Forgiven though he might be
Perhaps his repose looms
I was once supported by the pillars four
Their loss has left me vacillating and desolate
But the clock of parting has chimed
And they are lost to the stains of time
The weight of my decisions
Is a heavy burden to bear
Running from the consequences
Is no longer an option that's there
Still, there is hope
All is not lost
This besieged vessel
Is not yet a lost cause
For there is another
A harbinger of dawn
Yet solace still lingers
There is little hope of a liaison
Though it seems life has taken a bad turn
And uncertainty is rife
Understanding slowly fills me
For this is the nature of life
Suffering and happiness go hand in hand
One cannot exist without the other
The winds of change blow across the sands
But perhaps that is part of Fate's plan
