Stand Still Poem by Eowyn Aurora

Stand Still

To dance was all I wanted
To dance and then be through
I spun too fast, jumped too high,
And then I fell for you
The simple way you made me laugh
The twinkle in your eye
The way you knew the moves,
The tuck, that turn, this slide,
The way you look at me
As any other girl
We danced for just a moment
The bow, the laugh, the twirl
You let me have my dream
Come true
One simple dance,
Just me and you.
Will it ever mean so much to you
As in my heart today?
Will you ever want to dance with me?
Enough for you to say,
"Exuce me ma'am.
May I have theis dance?
I've know you for ever
But there's just a chance"
A song, a dance
A simple melody
My dreams alive
But then I see,
Reality
You and me
Aren't willingly
Destiny
A sound interrupts
My harmony
That time
Before slumber slips
To close my consciousness
Hovering above,
I could be more than this,
The wings of dreams,
Steady below, push on,
Joyfulness available
Till dawn,
The moment before I cease control
Yet not dreams do start
That moment above,
The moment of my heart.
