Stand The Fight Poem by Oni Omotayo

Stand The Fight

If there be a thing just in war
May you stand and fight for it
If there be a thing fair in love
May you stand and live for it
May I challenge you to a fight of faith
Men who stepped the world many years without a fight
Men who lives at the mercy of cruelty
May I challenge you, you who wield no sword
Men who sleeps on the comfort of mediocrity
Fathers who watch the wall fall without defense
You hold a covenant for every child you bore
But you slept at the eve of battle
Only to watch the turmoil of war raze down your bans
Posterity will hold you accountable
In a place where nothing but shadows lies behind you
You will face the verdict of your deeds
Arise! shield maidens of the land
Rise ye sons of the noble
May you wield the blade of justice against tyranny
May you defend our walls when the battle goes ill
May it be in a time when the trees can not bear her blossoms
May you find grains to bake your bread.
