He points to maps from long ago,
And claims the land is his to hold.
He says the past dictates the flow,
And tries to make the new world old.
But if we trace the shifting lines,
Of empires lost and borders blurred,
The logic breaks and undermines
The very power of his word.
For if we reach to ancient dust,
To claim what kings once ruled before,
No flag could ever hold its trust,
And every house would be at war.
The world would burn in endless greed,
As neighbors fought for ghost-filled ground.
No sovereign home would be guaranteed,
With chaos looming all around.
A country is not owned by ghosts,
It lives by choice and current law.
Not by the dreams of distant hosts,
Or lines a hungry ruler drew.
The borders stand, the truth is clear,
Though history leaves a heavy trace.
We do not live in yesterday's fear,
But in the world's own living space.
