In the earth at your feet;
Does the Rose ask once why
It would look, oh, so sweet?
When the Star up above
Flickers winks at my eye;
Did it stop for a moment
To ever wonder why?
When the child learns their name,
Says it smiling first time;
Would they ever wonder
'Is this really mine? '
When I'm standing beside you,
Swearing I'll catch all your tears,
Don't you dare ever ask me
If I am still here.
Where I am right now
Is where I always should be;
Still here, still standing,
