Star People Poem by James Darwin Smith II

Star People

Star People
Please, help me fly
Beyond the clouds
Through the Karman line
All the way up into space
Hardening up
Turning into a meteor
Searching for a barren planet
To terraform into a place
Where peace and love
Exist and all is unconditional
As each soul has merit
Rather than the pageantry of flesh

Am I even really a human?
Sometimes it really makes me ponder
So detached from everything
Not that I have any depression
At this very moment
It's just I feel so out of place

Time is just a mirage
I exist from the past
The present and the future
Where everything resides
All at once

Star people
So advanced you are
Help me create a place
To feel free to breathe
No pain, no sorrow

Just love
As unconditional as it can be

No greed
Nor violence

A destination where vanity has no place

No anger
No anxiety

Everyone and everything feeling
As though they belong

No destruction
None whatsoever
Feeling safe
Never worrying about anything at all

Star People
I know you are out there
Was I supposed to be here in the first place?

Take me home
