Stardom Poem by Marilyn White

Stardom

Do you dream of the stage
The lights on you for a change
You can be whatever you want to
That is what you said one day
Then you sat down and wrote something
Maybe you could a philosopher
You don’t have the passion for it
All you have is the popularity
Everyone wants to be what you dream of
Standing there looking at us
You won’t even bat an eye
That we used to know each other
Don’t ask why I am here I don’t know
Maybe I just want to see how far
You come from being gone you are
Or if you stole my dreams from under me
Used my words as weapon of choice
Your eyes seem to fade away
I guess something’s never change
I hope you are happily miserable
