Stare Poem by Jeremy Williams

Did you ever listen to me?
Did you ever care?
Seems you were too caught up
In your own little world
That all you could do
Was stand and stare.
Opening up my heart to you
Was the hardest thing
I’ve ever had to do
But I’ve never been able
To show how I really felt
For someone except you.
Yet you never reciprocated
You only ever contemplated
All of the impossibilities.
Never for a moment did you stop
And think just how much you cared.
Take that moment now
Before you lose me somehow.
Do you really care?
Or would you prefer to stand and stare?
