POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
(to the loved ones of Bina Robinson (1923 to 2015)

Hans Ruesch was a race car driver, novelist, and activist who also wrote 2 books against experimentation on animals: Slaughter Of the Innocent and The Naked Empress He was tireless in working in Italy and Switzerland to ban animal research. The American representative of his organization CIVIS was Bina (Winifred) Robinson, who spent many decades exposing the brutalities of animal research, hunting, and other forms of cruelty to animals including animal habitat destruction. In addition she wrote articles about health, environment and the arts. She was constantly writing, publishing, networking. The compassionate aura of this quiet saint caused many miracles.

She and her husband David built a ski resort in New York. 'In 2007 Bina published a full length novel, “With Our Own Four Hands” - the true story of their endeavors and experiences of this remarkable undertaking. Avid hikers, they trekked in Nepal, the Dolomites, Peru, Andorra, and numerous rambles in the English Lake District and the American southwest. She served as a local correspondent and feature writer for 'The Hornell Evening Tribune' and had numerous articles and editorials published in American and British magazines.'
