Statue Poem by Abdul Majid Ahmed

Statue

What an armed honourable figure I am!
Standing in park, surrounding by fencing.
They are blooming to buy my better fame
I am the owner and protector king.

Oh! no my wrong thought; how I am that can-
say nothing to butterfly that enjoy them.
Not to bees who take honey, not to even-
Flies that make poison to destroy them.

Insects and birds come, sit on my forehead,
They use me and make me a dirty one.
I can not but have to remain unheeded.
Many come and have flowers, do undone.

I can prevent nothing that I am none,
Nothing but only statue of a vile stone.
