Stay Poem by Himanshu Sanghani

Stay

Rating: 5.0

Sitting on a berth I gazed at your brown eyes,
I controlled the words by carefully heeding my thoughts,
my mind freaked out with what it was building.
I dodged the thoughts by looking around,
but who knew your eyes and smile
would entice the emotions that I was shielding.

I hoped if I sprout you would accept those kind words
I hoped that the beginning shouldn't turn into ending
though I knew it wasn't going to work
but I hoped that whatever I would say
you shouldn't be pretending

My brain split for a second to tell me be aware of the emotion
This isn't going to fall in right place.
I wanted to hold your hand that very moment,
I wanted to give you a 'Missisippi Hug' that very moment
I wasted the time in contemplating
but Darn you saw right through me and said
'Speak your heart and don't live your life in solace'

Sitting on a berth I gazed at your brown eyes,
I controlled the words by carefully heeding my thoughts,
my mind freaked out with what it was building.
I dodged the thoughts by looking out of the window,
but who knew your eyes and smile
would entice the emotions that I was shielding.

You are on a journey to find yourself and
not a soul made out of clay.
I don't know if I will ever meet you
but my heart was raging to hold you
and whisper those probably last words
'I want you to stay'
