Stay Afloat Poem by Esther Hadassah Sendeza

Stay Afloat

You feel like you're drowning?

That's alright,
As this means you haven't drowned yet.
It means you can still turn things around,
You can still put your head above water,
And you can fight to stay afloat.
And keep fighting until you overcome.

When it feels like it's too much,
Truth is, It probably is.
But another truth,
Is you believing it won't drown you.

When you feel like you cant breathe,
Keep breathing.
Slow intentional breaths...
Until it becomes natural to breathe again.

So, Breathe.
Stay afloat.
Fight.
Write yourself notes of encouragement.
And see yourself overcome.
