Stay There. Poem by Sandra Kavanagh Josefsson

Stay There.

Stay there locked in your prison
of empty dreams and ruin.
Stay there where you feel safe,
and where nothing will consume.

Do not venture out into the big bad world.
You might need to feel,
you might need to be heard,
you might need to deal.

Do not reveal your inner most
feelings.
Not even to me.
Stay like a hermit.
Hide away,
I will let you be.

And one day when you come looking,
I will be a long time gone.
I cannot wait forever,
the feeling of loneliness is strong.

Stay there locked in your prison,
of empty dreams and ruin.
Stay there where you feel safe,
and where nothing will consume.
