Steel Dreams Poem by Rafaella Gunz

Steel Dreams

Darkness
in every corner of my soul.
From corner to corner.
Empty.
Numb.
Who knew that
too much pain
makes you numb?
Something shines.
Silver and sharp.
Piercing cold porcelain.
Red raindrops.
Maroon tears.
Drowning sorrows.
Stinging.
Burning.
Dripping.
Drying on
the pale vast terrain.
White and smooth
interrupted with
pink hills.
Rough to the touch.
Fall into sleep.
Dreaming of steel.
Drowning in a scarlet sea.
Waking up.
Still numb.
Numbing day by day
in the worst
of ways...
