Don’t you love to step back?
Just for a little while
Remember things from the past
That brings us a few warm smiles
I remember as a little child
How my brother and I would play
Oh yes, we fought as well
But that too made our day
We didn’t need a thing, you see
No toys, games or “stuff”
We could create out of nothing
Kids today would think that was rough
I remember a special time
So many years ago
We took a huge cardboard box
We knew how to make it go
Opened that box up, we did
Rolled up right inside
And over the hills we’d roll
Now that was quite a ride
We created lots of stories
That came from our imagination only
When we put our heads together
We were never EVER lonely
We still remember those days
Talked about it the other day
If only kids today could realize
That it doesn’t take “stuff” to play!
