Steps Poem by Vera Sidhwa

Steps

Well, I took three steps forward,
And three steps back.
I took three to the left,
And four to the right.

My steps climbed mountains,
My steps forded streams,
My steps took giant leaps,
In multi-colored dreams.

It happened to be,
That the steps,
I took for me,
Were the steps I took,
For you.

When we danced together,
On the dance floor.
