I’m sitting in my room, in the dark
Trying to write you a letter but I don’t know where to start
Trying to choose my words real careful so I won’t break your heart
You’ve been a real good man but I can’t continue on
Saw my ex the other day and he asked me on a date
I didn’t think of it as nothing but just chillin’ with a friend
We were talking and he had to let his feelings be revealed
With me he had to be sincere
And while telling me what he feels he couldn’t help but let out a tear
The reason we’re not together for him still isn’t clear
And I’m not going to lie I would have to agree; with him I want to be
But I would love if you and I could remain close friends
Just cause we’re not in a relationship it doesn’t mean everything ends
