Stomping Grounds Poem by Vinny Christensen

Stomping Grounds

Back in the days when we were young
To a land of dreams did we belong
We raised our glasses one more time
To the world that we would find
Left our worries all behind

Destined to go against the grains
Against sands of time and winds of change
But the dream was fading out
Planted was a seed of doubt
Back in my old stomping grounds
My old stomping grounds
My old stomping grounds

We travelled far we travelled long
We kept on singing the same ol' song
Until the day our ways would part
Careers and matters of the heart
Another page a brand new start

In spite of how things came to be
There was still a boy inside of me
So hear ol' friend for this I know
There's nowhere else I'd rather go
Than back to my old stomping grounds
My old stomping grounds

Here I keep singing the same ol' song
To a world of dreams I still belong
Oh tell me have I been deceived
I wonder did I ever leave
Those old stomping grounds....
