One minute of fulfillment
Or dismay endured for years
Is one elated moment
Worth a thousand wistful tears

Scented letters, words of love
All promtly sealed yet never sent
Poor's the fool at journeys end
With a heart to late to mend

It's the journey of a shooting star
It's there and then it's gone
To share it's magic splendor
Or sadly witness it alone

Some moments are remembered
And some drift into the blue
But eternal is the moment
When I laid my eyes on you
