Stop Light Poem by hikari enma

Stop Light

halted and stopped
half way through
i stood

i stood
amidst the throng of people
as sweat trickles on their necks
you stopped

you stopped
lifted my eyes
met yours
time suspended

time suspended
as if in trance
everything went dark
left you and me alone
gaze fixed on each other

gaze fixed on each other...

cars honked
people walked

green signalled go
orange time to slow

red is what i saw...
