Stop My Heart Poem by Ash Skandarsky

Stop My Heart

I look up to the moon, I sigh and weep
For I hear the words you have said once when
The shadows stayed back, I let you in deep
My heart and soul in which you have helped mend
Your eyes they twinkle as blue gray skies shine
Arms around me, my heart raced to your beat
I used to smile free, I knew you were mine
You once told me your soul I could always keep
That was then, this is now I still love you
But now you look the other way, try to hide
Keep me out, I’m crying bloody tears so true
Yet you seem to wander, leaving me to find
Alone and scared I hate you for leaving
Now I wish to stop my heart from beating.
