Stories - Poem by Courtney Beaudry

We write a story
Etched in blood
Cut out in stone
Pain in a flood
It's the story of our lives
The one we used to lead
The one that used to make me smile
Oh pay me no head
I'm just recalling
How it felt beside you
Just recalling
My little baby boo
You used to say I love you
All the time, every day
I thought you meant it
In every way
But sadly, I was just a girl
To pass the time
Until you found someone
That you could call mine
I thought I was her
But of course I'm not
Now my heart
Has begun to rot
So i tell the story
That we began
The story of the time
Before you ran
