Amit lived in the land of the free,
In a world of boardrooms, as busy as can be.
Success and riches, he had it all,
But something inside felt small.
Emails, calls, and deals each day,
Yet something vital had slipped away.
He scrolled through trips in his weekend haze,
Niagara Falls, caught in a daze.
He scoffed at the idea, just tourist lore,
But something inside called for more.
Off he drove, mind full of race,
Thoughts of career and the time he'd chased.
The falls roared loud, his doubts they broke,
The mist rose up, his heart awoke.
It took him back to monsoon rains,
To childhood joys and simple gains.
The smell of earth, the laughter sweet,
Memories of home, a bittersweet beat.
Amit stood still, a dam inside burst,
Realizing now what he'd lost at first.
His roots, his past, they called his name,
In chasing success, he'd forgotten his flame.
The waterfall wasn't just water and might,
It brought back his soul, his inner light.
As he drove back home with a quieter mind,
Plans to visit home, new meaning to find.
For no matter how far you may roam,
Your roots will always lead you home.
