Stranger Poem by Margaret Beil

Stranger

You knew me once
A long time ago
But now your just a stranger
It wasn't my choice
You had to go
Too many secrets, too many lies
Didn't want you to run
But I cant see your face
Or remember your eyes
But a sad smile
Through watery sunshine
Your colour hair was cloudy
Did you think you were smart
Did you ever have a heart
Did you ever look on hopes bereft
You should have been a mind reader
'Cause you never would have left.
